Medical Outreach Transforms Lives in Albania’s Poorest Communities
In the month of September, Media 7 in partnership with ‘Healthcare Christian Fellowship’ and local churches, conducted two impactful medical outreaches in the cities of Elbasan and Lushnje. These initiatives focused on reaching some of the poorest communities in these areas, addressing their pressing healthcare needs with compassion and care.
A dedicated team of medical professionals from the United States, led by Eithne Keegan, MA in Nursing, joined forces with a remarkable family of healthcare providers, David and Teresa Beach, along with their two sons, Josh and Jacob Beach. Together, they offered free medical consultations and care to residents, many of whom face significant challenges accessing healthcare services.
The needs in Albania, particularly in rural areas, are immense. Families often grapple with financial hardship, health struggles, and emotional burdens. Luljeta, a widow and mother of three, shared her story: “My oldest son suffers from epilepsy and mental disorders, and as a single mother, I am his sole caregiver. I am very thankful that today you gave me the opportunity to check the health of my children and myself. To be honest, I haven’t been able to do that in a long time.”
The outreach extended beyond medical care, combining practical assistance with prayer and biblical counseling. This approach brought hope and love to the communities, offering not only physical healing but also spiritual encouragement.
Those who received care were very thankful. Parashqevi from Elbasan expressed her thanks: “I thank God for this visit He provided through the medical doctors who came from so far to listen to our problems and help improve our health. I am thankful for the opportunity to get my health checked.”
Pastor Albert Dosti from Lushnje reflected on the partnership, saying, “It is a pleasure to continue collaborating with the ministry of Radio 7, which supports our efforts to reach local communities by addressing their needs. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and the partnership we have shared over the years.”
Through these outreaches, more than 200 people received free medical care, but the impact went far beyond physical health. Many experienced the hope and healing that only Jesus can provide, a testament to the power of combining practical service with spiritual ministry.
