A Question That Changed Everything – The story of Marsid
Marsid had always believed he understood who God was. Raised in a Muslim family, he grew up with a deep respect for God’s holiness, especially honoring Friday as a sacred day of prayer. To him, God was high above, distant, and untouchable. He believed in God, but he never imagined that God could be close… personal… or a friend.
One ordinary Friday, everything began to change.
Marsid was sitting alone in his room, casually turning the dial of his radio with no real intention. Then suddenly, a voice made him pause. It was a program called “The Word Speaks” on Radio 7. Something about the message drew him in, and he found himself listening closely.
The speaker was talking about God in a way Marsid had never heard before. He spoke of God’s love as something personal—something that reaches into the life of every individual. Even more surprising, he described God as someone who desires friendship with people.
Friendship.
That word echoed in Marsid’s mind long after the program ended.
He felt both curious and unsettled. “Could God really be a friend?” In everything he had known, God was holy and humans were sinners. There was a distance that could not be crossed. The idea of friendship with God felt impossible.
Yet the question would not leave him.
Days later, still searching for answers, Marsid found the courage to call the program. He spoke with the pastor and asked him directly about this thought that had been stirring in his heart. Could someone like him truly know God as a friend?
That conversation marked the beginning of a deep transformation.
For the first time, Marsid began to see God not only as holy, but also as loving and near. He discovered a new understanding of faith—one that invited him into a personal relationship with God. Slowly, his doubts gave way to hope, and his questions found peace.
Today, Marsid lives with a quiet but powerful joy: he knows God as his friend.
This change did not remain only in his own life. With urgency and love, he reached out to his brother in France, encouraging him to seek God in the same personal way. He shared what he had discovered—that God is not distant, but present, ready to help and to love.
Now living in France with his brother, Marsid is studying Economy and Business. He carries a vision for the future: to return one day to Albania and serve the Lord in everything he does—in his career, his relationships, and his community.
His journey began with something small—a simple moment, a radio program, a message heard by acccident. But that moment became the turning point of his life.
Marsid’s story is a reminder that even the quietest voice can spark the deepest change. Through Radio 7, he did not just hear a message—he found a relationship that transformed his life forever.
