Thousands of students and anti-government demonstrators have taken to the streets of Tirana, expressing frustration over education costs, corruption, and uncertainty about their future. Some demonstrations have escalated into clashes with police, damage of public institutions and private businesses, leaving injuries and deepening tensions. Behind the headlines are young people longing to be heard and families wondering whether meaningful change is possible.

For older generations, today’s unrest brings back painful memories of 1997, when the collapse of fraudulent investment schemes plunged Albania into armed chaos and near civil war, claiming approximately 2,000 lives. Those who lived through that darkness fear that a history of violence, loss, and shattered trust could repeat itself.

Evangelical Leaders Call to PrayerFor us at Media 7, these events underline the importance of our calling. Christian media has a responsibility to listen, report truthfully, and help people respond to difficult circumstances with wisdom. When anger fills public conversations, there is an urgent need for voices that uphold justice while protecting human dignity.

Through Radio 7 network’s daily reporting, we seek to connect the news of the nation with the needs of its people. Responsible reporting can help listeners understand events, consider different perspectives, and resist the spread of rumors and hostility. Our Christian witness calls us to care about those who suffer, ask honest questions, and encourage accountability without feeding hatred.

Alongside this daily reporting, our television and radio program Flasim, hosted by psychologist Mirela Gjoni and journalist Enkelejda Shelburne, creates space to address the emotional struggles that national crises can intensify: anger, frustration, fear, and helplessness.

These conversations offer practical guidance for recognizing emotions, pausing before reacting, communicating without aggression, and seeking help. They also open a door to biblical hope. Ephesians 4:26 teaches that anger must not lead us into sin. James 1:19 calls us to listen carefully, speak thoughtfully, and be slow to anger.

Responding biblically to injustice means pursuing what is right without allowing bitterness or revenge to direct our actions. Forgiveness does not remove the need for accountability. Peacemaking requires courage: the courage to tell the truth, defend the vulnerable, and refuse to dehumanize another person.

This is where Christian media can contribute to lasting change. A listener can be encouraged to examine a reaction before it becomes a harmful action. A family can learn a healthier way to handle disagreement. A young person can encounter the hope of Christ while wrestling with disappointment about the future.

We believe God can use these everyday encounters with truth to shape a nation. Through radio, television, and digital media, biblical teaching reaches people in the places where attitudes are formed and decisions are made. In a nation carrying wounds from the past, Christian media can create space for healing, encourage reconciliation, and help a new generation choose a path of hope.

Please pray for Albania: for its students, families, police officers, and leaders. Pray that Radio 7 and TV 7 will serve with truth, compassion, and courage. Your prayers and support help us bring the hope of Jesus into conversations that matter deeply to our nation.
