A Child’s Courage, A Family’s Hope
The story of Magdalena
Every evening, I tune in to Radio 7, and in those moments, my heart finds peace. Your programs have been more than just words to me — they have been a lifeline, filling my home with joy and my spirit with hope. One devotional program, Reset with Bonnie Sala, has become part of my daily routine. I listen carefully, take notes, and meditate on the powerful truths from the Word of God.
But I want to share why this has meant so much to me. One of my nephews, just 8 years old, has been living through pain no child should ever have to face. His father, trapped in substance addiction, has been abusive toward his mother — my sister — and at times, toward him as well.
One day, the violence reached a breaking point. His father was about to kill my sister. In a moment of courage no child should ever have to summon, my nephew called the police. They arrived quickly and saved her life. But instead of being proud of his bravery, his father turned the blame on him — accusing him of “destroying the family.”
The weight of those words crushed him. He withdrew into silence, sinking into a deep depression. I didn’t know where to begin. I felt numb, helpless. And then, one day, Reset gave me exactly the practical advice I needed. It was like God had timed the message just for me — for him.
Now, my nephew listens to your Bible drama stories for children. They have opened the door for us to talk more about God — the One who can heal even the deepest wounds. I believe that through these stories, seeds of hope are being planted in his little heart.
Thank you, Radio 7, for being a voice of light in our darkness.
