Real change begins with people, not institutions. That’s the driving principle behind Movement Day, a gathering of church, marketplace, and civic leaders committed to transforming their cities through collaboration and shared purpose.

On March 9-13, 200 Christian leaders from eight Balkan countries met in Thessaloniki, Greece to dream, plan, and strategize for city-wide impact. With evangelical Christians representing less than 1% of many communities, Movement Day aims to equip leaders to think holistically about the gospel, ministry, and reaching entire cities.

Attendees highlighted key takeaways: stepping out of comfort zones, serving with boldness and truthfulness, and inspiring transformation in both heart and community. Leaders shared ideas, formed networks, and explored practical strategies to evangelize, serve, and strengthen their cities.

One participant from Montenegro reflected, “Even where I felt alone, I now see how I can make a real difference in my community.” Another from Cyprus emphasized the power of unity: “Seeing people from multiple cities come together with purpose and courage was deeply encouraging.”

Movement Day demonstrates that when God’s people unite in vision, prayer, and action, real change begins. The initiative seeks to spark city-by-city transformation across the Balkans, empowering leaders to make lasting impact in their communities.
